Groups for Women

In response to the requirements and suggestions from Harris County and the governor of Texas, as well as our continued commitment to the health and safety of our UBC members and guests, onsite events are currently postponed. Contact   for more information about Women's Ministries.

God's Word transforms women's lives. UBC has many opportunities for women of all ages and stages to gather, learn and grow together.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2

Thinking Faith Academy

Thinking Faith Academy has gone online, AND YOU HAVE A ZOOM-FREE OPTION!! Yes! I have set up an online discussion board that the groups will be using. You can opt to join and just skip the Zoom meetings if you like.
Familiar with Blackboard? It will be sort of like that.

(If you want to join the Zoom discussions, they meet Thursday mornings at 10 and Sunday evening at 6pm. Thursday Zoom is for women only. Sunday Zoom is for men and women.)

Back by popular demand, this fall we are repeating A Bible Survey: A Big Screen Perspective with Dr. Bert Downs. By the end of the semester you will be able to write an entire overview of the Bible on a napkin in 5 minutes.

This semester of TFA has been the favorite of most. And now you can do it all online with friends. This discussion board is for MEN AND WOMEN. If you would like to join TFA, we start this week. Email me at  for more information.

Homework consists of watching a 30 minute video and answering a few discussion questions. Class will consist of discussing the material and getting to know each other. This is a great class for new believers who do not yet have a good grasp on the Bible as a whole. Invite a friend to join you!

God's Big Picture

Tuesdays, Sept 29–Nov 17, 10-11:30 am
God’s Big Picture: Tracing the Storyline of the Bible by Vaughan Roberts.

In this study Vaughan Roberts gives the “big picture” – showing how the different parts of the Bible fit together under the theme of the kingdom of God. From Genesis to Revelation we will study this theme through eight components:

Old Testament:
1. The pattern of the kingdom.
2. The perished kingdom.
3. The promised kingdom.
4. The partial kingdom.
5. The prophesied kingdom.
6. The present kingdom.

New Testament:
7. The proclaimed kingdom.
8. The perfected kingdom.

The study has three components:

  • God’s Big Picture by Vaughan Roberts which you will need to purchase on Amazon.
  • Weekly short videos to watch at home before Zoom meeting. The website and schedule will be provided.
  • Handouts and minimal homework questions in response to the reading material.

The first Zoom meeting to discuss “The Pattern of the Kingdom” will be Tuesday, September 29th from 10:00-11:30. Our final Zoom meeting will be Tuesday, November 17th to discuss “The Perfected Kingdom”. We will finish the week before Thanksgiving.
