Current Sermon Series - Exploring a Life on Loan
As UBC approaches the summer of 2008, we prepare our hearts and minds for service. Summer is traditionally the season when many of us are investing time, abilities, and energy in taking Jesus’ compassion and hope to others through acts of ministry. This series of worship services will ready us for missions. We will explore what it means to live our lives as if they were merely ours on loan.

Pentecost, marks the birth of the Christian Church. This is when we remember that God poured out his Holy Spirit on his people, and the first time Jesus’ disciples proclaimed the cross and his resurrection. You are encouraged to wear red during that weekend, to celebrate that day and what it means to “Serve with God’s Power.”
May 17-18
Serving in God’s Name
Matthew 28:16-20
On Trinity Sunday, we celebrate the reality of God the Three-in-One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The sermon title for that weekend is “Serving in God’s Name.”
May 24-25
Serving is Not Optional
Matthew 6:24-34 & I Corinthians 4:1-5
We will focus on the words of Jesus and Paul about our identity as servants of God—serving the true God is a decision that excludes our being able to serve other world-be-gods in our lives. Our sermon will remind us that, “Serving is Not Optional.”
