Practicing What We Believe
We put our beliefs into daily practice as we seek to help each other and those we encounter reach their full potential in Christ.
- We practice our beliefs about God through corporate worship, which brings us into his presence, and through believer’s baptism, which is an outward sign of our faith in him.
- Through acts of service and mercy, we also practice our beliefs about God and His character. To best accomplish God’s mission to serve those in need, we partner with other organizations including Union Baptist Association (the association of Baptist churches in the Harris County area), the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Southern Baptist Convention, along with other multi-denominational groups. We believe that each church is autonomous, but we find that partnership with other groups of believers is an effective way to address human hurts.
- We practice our beliefs about covenant community by inviting everyone, Christ-follower or not, to join us as we journey to reach our full potential in Christ. We have found that the journey of discovery often leads an individual to faith in Christ.
- Our Bible Studies also demonstrate our beliefs about covenant community as we join together to practice the spiritual discipline of studying God’s Word.
- Both our in-depth Bible studies and our corporate worship demonstrate our belief that the Word of God has life-transforming power. As we grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, we believe it is our mission to put that knowledge to practice in our individual, everyday lives.
Our beliefs inform everything we do as a body, and as we join together in service and worship, we are journeying to become more like Christ. This is our faith, put into practice.
