What to Expect

What is the worship service like?

You can choose from two services, depending on what style you like.

  • At 9:30, our traditional service features a full choir, orchestra, and handbells.
  • At 11:00, our contemporary service includes a praise band leading more modern worship

For the contemporary service, most people dress casually. In the traditional service, you’ll see both casual and more traditional Sunday attire. Please be comfortable for either service you attend. Both services offer the same message and last about 75 minutes.

During the service, no one will ask you to stand up or call attention to you. But if you’d like, you can tell us a little about yourself by placing the visitor card (found in your bulletin) in the offering plate when it comes by. You don’t need to put anything else in the offering plate.

What about Sunday School?

We would love for you to check out one of our Sunday Bible Studies at 8:15, 9:30, or 11:00 a.m. Greeters will be happy to share what’s available and direct you to the right room.

Where do my children go?

Our dedicated staff and volunteers are ready to welcome your child into their group, where Bible studies and fun activities will nurture their growing faith.

  • If your little one is between six weeks old and kindergarten-aged, we have a Preschool Weekend Bible Study class just for them where they can learn more about God’s love! Check out more about our children’s enrichment programs and childcare policies.
  • For children in grades 1 through 5, our Kid’s Zone’s games and activities will keep them engaged in learning about God’s Word (offered at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00).
  • If you have a pre-teen or teenager, our community of youth and dedicated youth leaders are ready to welcome them, as together they study truths that are relevant to their lives (offered at 9:30 and 11:00). Check out our Student Ministries.

How can I get to know the leadership and learn more about UBC?

Three easy ways:

  • The Connection Café: If you will head to the Connection Café after a worship service, you’ll find one of our pastors along with a few members and staff waiting to meet you. While there, you can also pick up informational packets about our church and ministries.
  • A Wednesday night dinner: Fall through spring, whenever it’s convenient for you, please join us for dinner in the fellowship hall. No need to make a reservation; just show up between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Dinner’s on us! Everyone’s looking forward to meeting you.
  • How-To... Join the UBC Family: Attend this one hour class held once a month on Sunday mornings and hear about the ubc "heart" and what it means to belong, prepare and serve at ubc.
