Connecting People to God’s Kingdom (Part 2)

Connecting People to God’s Kingdom (Part 2)

Passage: Matthew 28:19-20

Speaker: Dr. Steven Laufer

Series: Our Mission

Category: Sunday Sermons

Keywords: connecting, evangelism, missions, proclaiming, serving

When we look in the New Testament for instructions about how the family of believers should interact with others, we find a wide variety of responsibilities. We are called to serve, to proclaim, to not judge, be merciful, be patient, be ready to give an answer, and be hospitable, just to name a few. Through all of these, the goal is for the people of God to help people who do not know God experience him, learn about him, and hopefully come to know him. Ultimately, the work of salvation belongs to God. We acknowledge that change comes through the power of God, but God uses his people to help connect people to him. Our goal is for our family of Christ followers to be diversely active in CONNECTING people to God’s Kingdom, both in the “here and now,” and in the Kingdom’s eternal, future form. (Matt. 28:19–20, 9:37-38; Luke 6:36; 1 Pet. 3:15)
