Balancing Strong Leadership with Humility

Balancing Strong Leadership with Humility

Passage: Proverbs 11:10-11

Speaker: Dr. Steven Laufer

Series: Balancing Act

Category: Sunday Sermons

Keywords: humility, influence, leadership, power, pride

Strong leadership is almost never referenced in the same sentence as humility. The two concepts just don’t seem to go together in our modern society. But in the wisdom of Proverbs, leaders can and should be both strong, capable, and wise, as well as gentle and humble in spirit. Whether we exercise leadership in our family, our community, our place of work, our church, or elsewhere, how can we develop a balanced place where the “humble leader” is not an oxymoron? Strong and humble need not be mutually exclusive adjectives to describe leadership. Prov (leadership) 11:10-11; 25:4-5; 28:2, 16; 29:2, 8, 12; (humility) 8:13; 11:2; 22:4; 27:1-2
