I came to UBC on March 1, 1990. Since that time, there has been growth in the community, UBC, and my family! It has been fun to raise a family in the Clear Lake community and UBC fellowship. Our family has enjoyed being part of UBC’s growth in her missional outreach to the community and the world.

Missions Network Council
The Missions Network Council works to provide and promote opportunities so that every UBCer has the possibility to live the missional life. The MNC helps people explore and serve in going glocal (global and local) to heal human hurts and empower the next generations. It is done through various ministries that are represented on the council through missionary care, mission and external ministry teams, global missions, resourcing Serving Coordinators, and planting the gospel.
Mission Network Council Manager
Dan Garrison
Dan Garrison leads the Mission Network Council (MNC). Dan works with the coordinators on the council to guide the external ministries of UBC.
Missionary Care Coordinator
Mary Lou Covington
UBC has several families who have been commissioned as missionaries. UBC owns a home that missionaries can rent when they are stateside. In additional to the Mission Home, this position coordinates the various requests of the UBC missionaries.
Mission and External Ministry Teams Coordinator
Diane Vicary
UBC has many mission and external ministry teams. Diane works with the leaders of these teams to discover the plans and needs. Diane also works with the local UBC ministry partnerships.
Global Missions Office Coordinator

UBC has many partners worldwide. The Global Missions Office Coordinator helps to evaluate the needs of those partners and provide response as well as to support the Mission Teams.
Serving Coordinator Manager

Group Life is central to UBC. We desire to be not just a church with groups, but a church of groups. A key component to group life at UBC is serving. There are Serving Coordinators to facilitate serving in every group. Wayne supports and coordinates the work of the UBC Serving Coordinators.
Planting the Gospel Coordinator
Position Open (Currently filled by Jeff Waldo)
UBC has been involved in several church planting experiences which we call Planting the Gospel. These have ranged from facility based campus churches to small village churches. This work also involves training pastoral leaders.
In addition to working with the many external ministries and missions ministries at UBC, the Missions Network Council helps coordinate and promote cooperative mission work with other organizations. Ten percent of UBC’s budget goes towards cooperative mission work in Harris County, Texas, the United States, and around the world. The major partners in this work are Union Baptist Association in Harris County and The Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Above the budget giving, UBC collects mission offerings for World Hunger, The Mary Hill Davis Mission Offering for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, as well as mission work for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (the CBF Global Missions Offering) and the Southern Baptist Convention (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions). There are mission offerings for the mission ministries at UBC, too.
