I accepted Christ: When I was 9 years old a guest preacher rolled into town and preached a good old-fashioned Hell, Fire and Brimstone sermon one Sunday evening. I was scared to death. It took my mom a few days of continued calming to teach what salvation really was. My mother was able to lead me to make a clear decision to follow Christ in that time.

My favorite character in the Bible is: Daniel

The verse that is speaking to me now is: John 13:34-35

On my iPod: There is a lot on my iPod but what I am listening to right now is: Broken Social Scene, Florence and the Machine, Gungor, Civil Wars, Okkervill River and always Wilco

I’m excited about: What the Lord is doing with the students he is raising up to be great leaders at UBC

In my free time, I: Read or watch TV

Three people I would want to have a meal with: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, C.S. Lewis, and Jeff Tweedy

My education: BA in Biblical Studies at University of Mary-Hardin Baylor; Attending Truett Seminary in the fall

What I like about ubc: I love that UBC is an open church that is willing to try anything, open to great conversations and available to people from all backgrounds

What I’m reading: Love Wins, Almost Christian, and Once and Future King (Yes, I am always reading multiple books)

The team I root for is: Chicago Bears (Da Bears); looking for a college team since there will not be an NFL next season.

My proudest moments were: Each of the days my children came to me

My favorite food is: Chicken parmigiana

If I could do it all over again, I’d: Never get into debt!!!

My favorite TV shows are: Merlin, Fringe, Dexter

My favorite movie is: Ace Ventura, 21 Grams, Hotel Rawanda

Book I’d recommend to anyone as “a great read”: New Kind of Christian by Brian McLaren

If I could, I would: Run

Random life trivia: I helped to begin a Christian wrestling ministry; I trained competitive hunting retrievers; and I have 6 screws in my body.

My favorite UBC moment: Silver Cliff every year!!
