Bob and Diane Wagstaff on Mission
Romania
Bob & Diane Wagstaff are both natives of Texas. They have lived in Romania for five years. In 1993-1995, they served as volunteers with the Association of Christian Schools International in Timisoara, Romania.
The next six years they served in churches in the Houston, Texas area and helped several Romanian students with their education in the US. In July 2001, they were appointed as IMB missionaries to Team Romania.
After a year of language studies in Timisoara, they moved to the Oltenia region of the country, an area of over 1.2 million people. The number of evangelicals in this area is one-half of one percent. There are over 1,000 villages in this region with no evangelical work.
Bob & Diane live in Craiova, a city of 300,000 which only has four small Baptist congregations. Bob preaches and teaches in the existing churches in and around Craiova. Diane is teaching English as a Foreign language evangelistically at two churches while preparing to host an evangelistic women's home Bible study group. They meet with pastors in the region to assess prayer needs, to encourage pastors, and assist with a church planting movement strategy throughout the five-county Oltenia region.
