Our New to UBC Luncheon last Sunday was an exciting time of meeting those who were visiting UBC, and getting to know those who’ve recently joined our church family. Pastors and their families shared lunch with 35 guests and new members, and their families, answering questions about UBC, and hearing stories about what God is doing in the lives of those who came. One guest was baptized many years ago at UBC; another was part of and is so excited about what God did on the UBC mission trip to the Dominican Republic this summer; and still another expressed appreciation for a visit in the hospital by a UBC pastor last year during a very difficult time of battling cancer. Then there were the inquiries about ministries—one wanted to know more about Faithful Friends, and another who’d been a CBF missionary in Croatia and wants to return, and is looking for a church with a missions heart. After Dr. Laufer’s brief presentation about life at UBC, several inquired about how to join, and took covenant cards with them. And at least three people signed the UBC membership covenant. It was an exciting time of fellowship and conversation, as well as a time for some who are very new to UBC to just get a feel for who we are, and what we’re striving to be. All glory, praise, and honor, to Christ our living Lord, for His church, and our opportunity to share it!
