“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40

Kamp Kindness is our missions camp for kids who have completed second through fifth grade and is limited to regular attending UBC kids. Twenty-eight kids, seven students and seven adults participated in Kamp Kindness. The week was filled with opportunities to share the love of Christ with people. We started our week off with baking cookies, making cards and decorating potted plants to take to some of our UBC shut-ins. We made eleven visits; singing, “chatting” and leaving goodies for our shut-ins to enjoy. Tuesday, we went to Crossroads Ministries and helped make lunches, distribute clothing, “chat” and sing to the homeless who come for help. Wednesday was spent at the Clear Lake Food Pantry, bagging beans, rice and groceries, in preparation for distribution. And finally Thursday was spent at Hope Village, leading recreation and crafts for the special needs residents.

One of our vision statements in children’s ministry is to teach kids to serve God selflessly; and I never cease to be amazed at how engaged our kids are with the opportunity to serve others! They truly grasp the mission opportunities and serve with such innocent passion and selflessness.
