Missions for Women
Our second annual Women’s Ministries Mission Trip to Honduras was from April 3-10, 2008.
Where did we go?
We flew from Houston (IAH) directly to Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Westside Ministries, was our host--making all the travel arrangements, providing ground transportation, safe food, and safe lodging in a bunk house equipped with bathrooms, showers, and electricity. The last day we enjoyed shopping and one night in a first-rate hotel!
About West Side Ministries
Since 1992, Westside Ministries has assisted hundreds of people, many for the first time, in traveling on missions worldwide.
Thousands of people have come to know Christ as their Savior through the work of Westside Ministries, a nonprofit, non-denominational ministry. Through their vision, God has blessed the people of Honduras with facilities to train church leaders, bring medical care teams, and meet needs for food and water.
What we did?
Our group of 14 women served to meet the practical needs of women near the capital city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. More than 280 pairs of shoes were distributed to children who also received vitamins and parasite medication. Each child also received an illustrated Bible story book. Three or four special needs cases received medical attention.
The team ministered to the women in the church in one local village by supplying materials for making bracelets and teaching them to use this project as a fundraiser for their church. The Gospel was shared with more than 600 people, and more than 400 pounds each of beans, rice and corn were distributed to about 280 families.
