Join UBC
We understand a church to be a covenant community, one sustained by the promises we make to each other as God's people. At University Baptist Church we do not ask those who bring their lives into this community to do anything more than what the Bible clearly teaches every believer to do. We are explicit about asking for mutual commitment to the process of growing as a disciple of Jesus, experiencing our full potential in Christ.
Please read the covenant promises below. If you want to join UBC, you may be asked to sign a document with these promises:
"Having asked Jesus Christ to forgive my sin and to be the Lord of my life, and having been baptized or now requesting baptism, and being in agreement with University Baptist Church's purpose and direction, I now choose to unite with the UBC family as a member. In doing so, I affirm my intent to pursue the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ,
• by experiencing what it means for me to belong to Jesus Christ and to the family of God at UBC by
• preparing myself for usefulness in the Kingdom of God,
• engaging in those practices that will help me grow in Christlikeness,
• discovering the ways in which God has shaped me for ministry,
• equipping myself for more effective service, and
• finding a place of service in which I can offer Christ's compassion and hope to others."
