What has God shown you as you have journeyed with him through BeTheBody?

Mo responded on 04/06/07:
God has shown me he wants to spend time with me, and it is me that thinks I'm too busy. Be The Body has helped me spend more time with him in his word and also has helped me with fitness for my body. Thank you all so much for the time you spent to put this together for us.

Be the Body has brought my relationship with God to a new level. What was once a relationship, primarily reserved for Sundays, has now become a daily communication. In my heart, I feel what I believe to be spiritual transformation. Thank you.

I wanted to let everyone know how much my children have enjoyed their Be the Body Sunday School sessions. I have a First, Third and Fifth grader in the 9:30 am Be the Body classes. We have a trip planned to ride the Rusk-Palestine railway train this coming weekend. I had planned for our family to ride the train on Saturday and drive home on Sunday morning. When my children realized they would have to miss their Be the Body class they asked if we could return home on Saturday evening. I, of course said "no problem". My children are really enjoying their Bible reading and answering the questions in their booklets. Thank you for making it "fun" for them to attend their classes.

I loved the story "The Prayer Chair". For some reason that story touched me in a way I have not been touched in a long time. I could feel God right there with me through-out my study. I cried for all the lost people and our lost children in this world today. God does answer our prayers, I felt that today.

I have enjoyed the discipline of reading the Bible every day as part of the Be The Body exercise; however, I am not getting the connection between what I am reading in the workbook (Warm-up. Workout, Cool-Down), the Sunday Bible lesson, and the Topic of the Week,. I did enjoy Robert's sermon last Sunday and it was right on the topic. Others I have spoken with are having the same difficulty with the daily material. What are we missing here?

Thanks for your response and your question.

It is not our intention that the workout be an indepth Bible Study. So the passages and the stories weren't chosen to teach (though sometimes they do), but rather they were chosen to help us practice the disciplines of worship, study, prayer, and others, so that we might build these into our lives on a regular basis. So you might not see a connection between every element of the workout and the discipline of the week, but hopefully, you'll connect with God, and that's what BeTheBody is about. I would encourage us not to look for a teaching tie-in, but to be open to what God wants to reveal to us as we practice the disciplines.

Now the workout itself, the 10 minute middle part, was selected to help us focus on a particular discipline--the discipline of the week, if you will. This week "study", last week "worship", etc. So every 10 minute workout, this week, is focused in some way on those whose teachings we study, or on those who taught others to study. Indepth Bible study on the discipline of the week is more likely to happen in your WBS class or your Life Team, and how to practice the discipline is the topic of the workshops on Sunday or Wednesday evening, and the sermons on Saturday or Sunday.

But the workout itself is about disciplining ourselves to spend 20 minutes every day focused on God and what he's doing, and what he wants to do with us.

Hope this helps

I thought I'd share what seems to be the "theme thought" running through my mind as I've journeyed through this "Be The Body" week. As we are studying worship, I've realized that...
I am an alabaster jar! The Lord has filled me with many gifts and opportunities for anointing others. However, unless the jar is broken (unless I break my will and focus on God's), those gifts remain bottled up rather than let out to become the gift to Him that enables me to do a "beautiful thing to [God]."

Mo responded on 02/12/07:
Well, I have completed my first day lesson, and I feel close to the Lord. The 20 minutes went by too fast. I am going to incorporate the 15 minute work-out each day also. I not only want to get my spiritual body in good shape, but my earthly body too. Thank you for another opportunity to worship the Lord.
